What specifically about Blogspot? It doesn't really get covered much in the social media press. (LJ gets even less, though)

I guess I assumed that if you could find things to say about Wordpress that Blogspot would be covered, too. But if not, never mind! No biggie.

I would like to hear more about Dreamwidth, seeing as it's still fairly new and since I'm using it. Going through your posts under your Dreamwidth tag, I see that there's already a lot of interesting stuff that I haven't before considered, like invite codes fostering community at the cost of diversity. So, there's nothing you really need to change at all as far as my reading tastes go. :)

Is there anything else about Dreamwidth in particular you'd be interested in?

Not really; I'm very interested in how other people are handling the whole LJ to DW switch, since I gather that many people here are still mostly operating out of their LJ accounts, unless they're programmers or developers. I've moved over to DW, but I still keep my LJ account "just in case."

To find out about that, though, I just have to get around DW more and read more journals; it's nothing that you need to cater to specifically. Thank you for asking, though.

Yeah, you're right, most are not switching, I think. They're mostly, I get the impression, crossposting or just keeping an empty DW account.

I think it's mostly because for a lot of people, LJ usage centers around communities, and since there haven't been many blockbuster DW comms a la ONTD or customers_suck, there isn't that kind of infrastructure being created yet.

I'd like stuff on twitter and blip.fm, too. :D I'd be especially intrigued by more thoughts on the LJ -> DW transition, and DW trying to establish itself as a platform.

Oh, are you still using blip.fm? I got kind of tired of it after awhile.

In some ways, I'm not sure if there IS a transition going on. More like hmm, a co-using.

Yeah, it does seem to be co-using. I'm disappointed more ppl don't use DW; it's not just a question of cross-posting, but where the discussions end up. I'd rather them be here, but what can I do? Make everyone put their comments on the DW posts?

I stopped using it because I stopped being able to blip half of the music I wanted to. >_< I would search there and then for some reason I couldn't blip the mp3, so I was like "this sucks" and stopped.

I think it is only to be expected. Most people (referring to LJ users) have no incentive to comment on DW posts. Why would they want to, especially if there are few or no comments on the DW post? It's only an inconvenience to them.

Well.... yeah? If someone is read by more people on LJ than they are on DW, then the discussions, IMHO, are naturally going to end up on LJ, if comments are open there.
