Whoa, only six more days till open beta. I wonder what things are going to look like then? Hopefully the servers won't er... become 'robust' as tons of people attempt to import their LJs or IJs or JFs at once. (Probably after that, unless LJ does something really dumb, there won't be any big rushes) But I wonder numerically, how many people will bust down the doors? I think at least.... two thousand, IMHO. Maybe even five or six thousand? Right now there are twelve thousand accounts which are active in some way, and that probably includes openID accounts, but only about four thousand have ever updated, and 1,372 have updated in the last 24 hours.
I would say something about the 'woes, people crossposting to DW and turning off their comments on LJ!' thing, but it's like 'whatever, openID, just use it.' Also, I mean... didn't the people who chose LJ over whatever else was available at the time back then "force" their friends to use LJ? And at least Dreamwidth is (currently) less likely to be banned at work and by censorship-minded governments in other countries.
In other news, am reading a Borges short story collection (Labyrinths). Actually, have never read a collection by Borges before.
