I switched to the purple site scheme.

Glancing at the stats of LJ and its clones/forks:

I wonder if DW will have any effect on LJ as a business?

Possibly, some media fans will leave LJ for Dreamwidth, although I am not sure if this will have a very large effect at all. Maybe a couple of thousand people? This may have a small effect on LJ revenue.

Also, some volunteers may leave LJ and volunteer at DW. What effect this could have is unknown.

However, since SUP's main business is the Russian language, probably DW will not affect that unless someone starts up a Russian language DW clone.

Does DW really have ninety thousand accounts already? That seems like it must be a typo.

I hadn't realised JF had dwindled quite that much. Not even 3000 active accounts.

Maybe it's counting OpenID accounts? I just can't imagine there can be 90,000 real accounts when just the other day they had 1000.

JF used to be more active than that, certainly. Definitely a lot of activity is in comms, though, and always has been.

(There's something weird with your style, btw. The text box runs behind the sidebar. ETA: In fact, the reason I had to edit this is because I had a typo I couldn't see behind the sidebar!)

The more I think about it, the more OpenIDs makes sense, because in addition to all the people who have created their own OpenIDs, it also creates OpenID accounts automatically for everyone whose comments are imported.
