Huh...I've joined some groups which ARE used for networking purposes, though. It does seem that there is serious stuff going on Facebook as well (political organizing, business, formation of groups which do things), although I'm not a part of that.
Hmm... The people I know on Facebook don't do that as much. I use it mainly to read their updates and to organize events.
