Yeah, it is definitely younger, but I also think that that might be true of the female audience, yet clearly it's not the 9-12 year old girls who are producing the doujinshi either.
I wasn't saying that there were zero gen stories, though, and a lot of the times, the gen stories have had BL overtones, even if they were not explicitly BL or romance genre.
